Don Leadon was born into a upper-middle class family with a proud history of great military commanders, scientists, minor philosophers and explorers. However, he found that his family history was in complete contrast. His Terran father's side's history was strong in great military commanders and philosophers. His Vulcan mother's side's history was strong in scientists and explorers. This contradiction in family history and the Vulcan logic and Terran emotion, helped forge him into an interesting mix of both. He has learned Vulcan control from some of the masters. But he has also laughed with some of his human friends. His now uses this feature of his personality to enable him to choose when he wants to be logical and to concentrate on what he is doing, but not lose the joy of living.
Graduated from Starfleet Academy 3rd in his class. He used his breaks and spare time to triple major in Engineering, Tactical, and Command with no minors. His first post was aboard the USS Kepler (Oberth Class) as an engineer. When a warp core problem resulted from a shock wave encountered when studying a nebula, his quick thinking was able to save the ship. He was transferred to the USS Elendil (Nebula Class) and given a promotion to lieutenant and the post of deputy security officer. Two years and a promotion to lieutenant commander later, the ship crashed landed after a Cardassian attack. With all his superior officers killed on the bridge or seriously injured, he found himself in command for the first time. He used all his experience to repair communication systems on the ship and defend it from several raids from a Cardassian outpost. The rescue of the remaining crew was followed by his two grade promotion to captain. His first ship was the USS Bonaventure-B*. During his command, his skill in battle, science, and overall command was brought into the spotlight. Since he has continued to be the commanding officer of the Bonaventure and received rapid promotions to the current rank of vice admiral.
